Sometime ago, some government officials were slammed with various prison terms. The interesting thing was that some of the cases spanned over 10 years before judgment. It is said that the wheel of justice turns slowly but surely. This judgment proves that saying. It also sheds light on our text. Many people have become addicted to wrong behaviours thinking there are no consequences. This is an error because our actions are seeds. They may take a while, but the harvest will surely come.
“Lack of immediate reward can dampen enthusiasm and make us indifferent. You have to fight this temptation.”
Also, our good actions may not attract immediate reward. Mordecai saved the king’s life; but that fetched no immediate reward. Perhaps it took months or even years before he got anything in return. Lack of immediate reward can dampen enthusiasm and make us indifferent. You have to fight this temptation. Those who do good deeds should not relent; they should count God faithful, and He will one day reward their labour of love. Recently, the Lord said to me: “The time has come to prove that none of your labour
went unnoticed, and none will go unrewarded”. I believe that applies to all.
