Lack of accountability is our last consideration in the long list of ruinous attitude. I was conversing with a fellow gospel minister over the phone in the month of June. I reasoned that despite the advantage of spontaneous actions and other blessings of independent ministries, the lack of accountability by many is worrisome. Ministers who are the final authority of their ministries without being accountable to anyone are heading for destruction. While we say this of some ministers, it is a defect that any other group can exhibit. Lack of accountability manifests in various ways. It ranges from failing to take responsibility for one's actions or refusing to admit mistakes. Those who have this problem will easily blame others. It is also why some find it difficult to apologize, even after they have been proven wrong.
“Ministers who are the final authority of their ministries without being accountable to anyone are heading for destruction.”
The Bible lays emphasis on accountability. Jesus sent the apostles on a missionary journey. When they returned, they gave account of their mission. “Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught.” Paul and Silas were accountable despite their great anointing. “Now when they had come and gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.”
