The book of Genesis opens with the account of God’s wonderful creation and work of restoration. Adam was created on the sixth day and left with a mandate and benediction. He was given the task to tend the Garden and freely eat its fruits. In all of God’s communication with Adam, there was no mention of Satan. Was Satan in existence then? Of course yes! Why didn’t God specifically mention Satan to him? I believe it was because God did not want to start the man on a negative note. Had Adam obeyed the voice of God, Satan would not have been reckoned with at all.
“If you are surrounded by negative people, it will affect your output.”
We recalled the history of the beginning with a view to introducing another ruinous attitude; that is, negativity. People plagued with this attitude are always focusing on the worst aspects of situations. They are pessimists. Their minds are darkened by unwholesome thoughts which soon find expression in their speech. Negative people cannot live out their potential. Whereas optimistic people look for the silver lining in every difficult situation, pessimistic people will look for the downsides of every opportunity. Worse still, they camp with the downsides. Because of the way they speak and act, negative people always bring down the mood of those around them. Their attitude kills the zeal and initiative of other people. If you are surrounded by negative people, it will affect your output. The best thing to do is to separate yourself from such people.
