After a full year delay, the Tokyo Olympics eventually ran its course from July 23 to August 8, 2021. Unlike previous Olympics, the event was largely held without spectators due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the very reason for its initial postponement. That notwithstanding, it did not lack in glory as various athletes joyfully paraded their laurels. Events like this evoke the memory of our text of Scripture. Apostle Paul enjoined the believers to run for the prize. In context, what the apostle had in mind is the supreme prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. It is the eternal bliss that is reserved for all who walk spotless in this present world. However, it is also rich in meaning for our accomplishment in this present time; and to this we shall turn our focus.
It is only as you leverage on training and relationships, synergizing with people of like-goals that you begin to see the dividends that life has in store.
One thing that is not negotiable for a victorious life is participation. Just as no one can lay claim to an Olympic medal without engaging in a sporting activity, no one can live through this world absent-minded and make a mark. In other words, you cannot spectate your way to the top! You must engage. Engage with your energy, talent, and time. It is only as you leverage on training and relationships, synergizing with people of like-goals that you begin to see the dividends that life has in store.
