I once remarked that when God wanted to be understood, He made fathers. I have indeed learned so much about God from relating with my children. Sometime ago, I received a message from one of my children: “Please send me credit”. I did not have a second thought about this; I simply looked for the nearest vendor and sent him the highest denomination of air time on the network. He was shocked at my swift response and the magnitude of my response. “Wow! Dad, I didn’t expect that much, but am grateful”, he said, adding other greetings. I did not see anything extraordinary in what I sent. It was just one of my paternal duties which I was happy to do. Moreover, though what I sent looked significant for him, it did not scratch me at all financially.
“Keep in mind that there is nothing we ask that He cannot afford; and there is nothing that He gives that will in any way dent His fortune. Our God is simply unlimited and inexhaustible!”
Transport this occurrence to the Big Heavenly Father. We have been given the liberty to approach Him with all our needs. Keep in mind that there is nothing we ask that He cannot afford; and there is nothing that He gives that will in any way dent His fortune. Our God is simply unlimited and inexhaustible! Ephesians 3:20 says that God can do exceedingly abundantly above what we ask or think. His power in us makes all things superfluous. Hannah asked God for one child, she ended up with five! That’s beyond what she asked or imagined. Jacob never really thought he could set his eyes again on Joseph, his beloved son. But he ended up seeing not only Joseph but also his children. “And Israel said to Joseph, “I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!” (Genesis 48:11 NKJV). Buoyed by these examples, we can go ahead and make our petition in full assurance of faith.
