Man’s account with God opened on a note of blessing. “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (
“Righteousness is the most assured way to victory in life.”
Ideally, an increase should happen as a matter of course. Where this is not the case, one has the responsibility to look for the stoppers and take them out of the way. One likely stopper is sin. We know it takes the grace of God for an increase to occur. As Paul argued, we cannot continue in sin and expect God to be dolling out His grace on us. So where sin is identified, we must not only confess it but break into a new life of righteousness. Sin and God’s prosperity cannot function together. We see this premise well illustrated in Israel. They conquered Jericho with all its massive walls with the help of God, only to falter at a smaller city called Ai. Their failure was traced to sin in their camp. God adamantly refused to continue with them until they got rid of their sin. When they removed the stopper, they got back to winning ways. Righteousness is the most assured way to victory in life.
