You are probably familiar with the saying that if life hands you lemon, make lemonade out of it. A spiritual parallel of that will be when situations want to make you miserable, make a mission out of them. This appears to be Paul’s approach to life. He did not want to put the brethren in any doubt whatsoever about his state. Neither did he want them to hold a pity party for him while he was in jail. He quickly informed them that his imprisonment and chains were fulfilling the purpose God had for him. “But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel”. (Acts 9:15). This was what Paul referred to in our lead scripture. A further breakdown of that is found in verse 13 when he says, “So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places”. The chains actually became an avenue for him to stand before kings, fulfilling part of the original mission God had for him.
There is no stopping of people who are conscious of their mission. The obstacles on their path only become additional navigational aids to their destiny.
In all situations, think about your mission from God. Figure out how every circumstance can add to the overall course of God for you. This will be easier to grasp if you solidly believe that God will never allow anything that you may not be able to handle or convert to ultimate advantage. Once you develop this mindset you will look away from your misery and focus on your mission. Then you can rejoice no matter what comes your way. There is no stopping of people who are conscious of their mission. The obstacles on their path only become additional navigational aids to their destiny.
