Abraham was a model that God set before those who are called into the covenant walk. “Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.”” (Isaiah 51:2 NKJV). When we are asked to look at him, it simply means we should take a cue from him. Those who desire to be blessed will find a perfect model to follow in Abraham. God promised to make the Seed of Abraham a blessing to the nations of the earth for one reason – because he obeyed God’s voice. Obedience to the voice of God sets the stage for becoming a blessing.
“We need to have our listening faculty cleaned out and tuned, so we can hear what the Spirit is saying to us presently.”
Needless to say that we cannot be a blessing until we are blessed ourselves. The condition for being blessed is not any different from the one necessary for becoming a blessing, we need to obey God. To increase in the blessing of God and become a blessing requires that we are in full submission to God and fulfill divine demands. There is only one thing to add to this: Abraham was commended and rewarded because he obeyed the voice of God. That means he could recognize the voice. We need to have our listening faculty cleaned out and tuned, so we can hear what the Spirit is saying to us presently.
