The Bible describes our transition at new birth as moving from darkness into light. We are required to walk in the light. There are two sides to this. Firstly, walking in the light means hating the works of sin. Secondly, walking in the light means having the revelation of new creation realities and using them to our advantage. At new birth, God took His residence in us. We are as much in God as He is in us. Again, we have been made to sit with Christ in power and authority at the right hand of the Father. When these revelations become our guiding light, our confidence level will grow and we will be able to walk in victory.
Let us relate this to our text. The Bible declares that darkness is under the feet of God. Remember we already said we are in God. If this be true, then whatever is under the feet of God is under the feet of the Saints of God as well. The point is that not many things destroy believers; their undoing is traceable to ignorance of who we are, and where we are. In Ecclesiastes 2:13, the Bible tells us that light is ahead of darkness, just as wisdom is to foolishness. Believers are light; and no work of darkness is strong enough to overpower them. To be victorious, we have to constantly invoke the knowledge of who we are and our position in Him.
