The salient point here is that although our efforts may never be enough, they will suffice for an acceptable minimum for God to step in. God rewards efforts.
How do we ensure that our prayer is not amiss? This is where we come again to the good book.
Preceding meditations have established the Bible as the book from where purposes, patterns, and perceptions are derived. In addition, the Bible is also a book of promises.
The perception or wisdom which Solomon applied on that occasion was from the book of God. God’s word gives perception.
In our previous meditation, we established that God’s book is a book of purpose. Today, we see it as a book of patterns.
I saw a quote on a stand – “A good book is a friend that never lets you down”. Beneath that was a request to donate books which, I believe, were to serve the public good.
What this year will produce will depend on paying attention to details. Small details may account for the difference between success or failure, struggle or fulfillment.
As it were, this is the early morning of another year and this is a prayer everybody should pray.
