Again, those who are quick to claim equality with those who send them cannot be faithful stewards. Eliezer’s bold declaration must have been borne out of the fact that the servant of a great man is a great man by extension.

Faithful stewards know that it is mission first, leisure and pleasure later. Those who put their personal convenience before mission cannot go far.

In Eliezer we understand that a steward must be strategic to be successful. Being strategic calls for wisdom. Through wisdom he was successful at the task given him.

Similarly, we don’t wait until we see the final victory before we give God the praise. Any initial mark of breakthrough should be an occasion to worship God.

To be a faithful steward, learn to handle every task prayerfully. Prayer will neutralize opposition to your task. It will also give you wisdom to handle people and situations.
