God’s offer is always superior to the world’s efforts. Take for instance the issue of peace and what Jesus said about it. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 NKJV. At best, the peace that the world offers is sectional, temporary, and costly. It is ironic that the world’s meagre peace often comes with the use of brutal force. It is not so with God.
Guidance from God is different. God can guide through the dark hours and in every place…No other guide comes a distant second to His. Happily, His commitment to guiding us is throughout life.
The same thought can be carried over to the subject of guidance. If you find yourself as a tourist in a foreign land, your hope of making the most of the trip lies in getting a tour guide. Most tour guides are locals who know the terrain well and can lead you through the shortest route to your destinations. As helpful as a tour guide might be, it still has a limitation. When night comes, he leaves you alone until another day. Even from a professional point of view, the guide from man is limited. Again, if you change location and move to another land, your former guide may prove useless as he may be a stranger as well. Guidance from God is different. God can guide through the dark hours and in every place. He is omniscient and omnipresent, meaning that He is all knowing and present everywhere at the same time. No other guide comes a distant second to His. Happily, His commitment to guiding us is throughout life.
