In our previous meditation, I recalled the night that the Lord prompted me to check the generating set outside. I mentioned the initial reluctance, hinging my hope on the fact that I had delegated someone to take of it. To my surprise, the engine was on and it was drizzling. The experience of that night brought to the fore a few management or leadership lessons. The experience made me know that delegation does not mean abandonment. It also taught me to know that leaders must inspect what they expect.
You will never fully get to know the mind of the Lord until you take the step to obey His first instruction…Obedience to one opens you up to receive the next.
Perhaps, a bigger lesson that came through for me that night was that one act of obedience could lead to a string of other blessings. When I finally roused from bed, I also discovered that the pumping machine was on too. If I had not gotten up, the machine would probably be damaged due to overwork. Now, the Lord only reminded me of the generating set when He asked me to get up, but He had other things in mind. You will never fully get to know the mind of the Lord until you take the step to obey His first instruction. His precept and instruction come a little at a time. Obedience to one opens you up to receive the next. By the time I was done sorting out the issues, I was no longer sleepy, and I took advantage of that. From that time till about 5 in the morning, I was in study and prayer. Though I sacrificed my sleep to obey the Lord, the outcome was so rewarding. Obeying the Lord will first cost you something; but you will be grateful for the harvest.
