We anchored yesterday’s meditation on the fact that God does not need anyone’s approval to bless you. So the enemy cannot in anyway hinder what God wants to do in your life. However, we noted that God needs your own approval; that is, faith and obedience. When you believe and obey, you give God the approval to carry out His divine purpose in your life. Beyond being blessed, faith and obedience also put you in God’s universal prophetic scheme. Let us think of it this way: God gave the children of Israel several instructions concerning the only Passover they observed in Egypt. Among these instructions was that none of the bones of the Passover lamb must be broken.
They observed these instructions and were set free.
“Most times, the things of God have to be lived forward and then understood in retrospect.”
Jesus was sent as the Lamb of God for the world. The Bible rightly described Him as our Passover Lamb. When He was hung on the cross alongside two other malefactors, His bones were not broken. When God instructed Israel not to break the bones of the Passover lamb, He did not explain the reason to them; it was still concealed. Had they disobeyed Him, they would have significantly tampered with His counsel. The point is this: God does not give frivolous instructions. Whatever He is asking of us today is linked to His plan for us and His Kingdom in future. Most times, the things of God have to be lived forward and then understood in retrospect. We don’t wait to understand everything in detail before we obey God.
