Through this, I saw that failing to control the tongue inevitably leads to trouble.

KEPT BY PURPOSE
Another thing that keeps believers is purpose. Purpose kept Jesus. Before the Cross, several attempts were made on His life. At one time, they tried to throw Him down from a cliff.
GREAT CAUSES
There is a purpose behind God’s choice of the weak and foolish for great things. According to our text, it is to silence those who consider themselves wise and humble the mighty.
ERODING VALUES
Power, success, money, and other things can erode values. The more we acquire these things, the greater the need for caution.
USES OF SCRIPTURES
In our text, we find another use of God’s word. It is a timekeeper or time prompter.
COMMUNION WITH GOD
Communion with God will not only refresh you but will give you access to divine secrets. It will also show you a way out of every dilemma.
A GOOD REPORT
In the text, Asa obtained a good report that he did what was right in the eye of the Lord. This must have been on the heel of three things.
CRIPPLING FEAR -2
Perhaps more profoundly, fear can damage our walk with God. Fear can make us less responsive to the instructions of God.
CRIPPLING FEAR -1
While entertaining a reasonable amount of fear can guide against recklessness, crippling fear must be avoided.
KEEP AN OPEN HEART
It is good to keep an open heart as God can choose to speak to us from unlikely quarters.
