We understand from here that victory or failure is not determined by the size of battle we face. Small battle without God on our side is doom; big battle with the Captain of the Hosts is a walk-over. Unfailingly, obedience will always woo God to our side.
Another area where God’s operations defy human conventions is timing. God’s timing often goes against the grain of human wisdom. However, God’s time is always the best. Imagine the time that God asked Israel to cross river Jordan into the Promised Land.
God’s operations are beyond the limits of human conventions. One reason why many people miss the operations of God is that they expect Him to reason and act like human beings. The Bible is plain in stating that God’s ways are different from our ways.
To rehearse is to go over a list of items; it is to repeat something such as a story. Those who will grow in the art of praising God must keep account of the acts of God in their lives in particular, and in the whole of creation in general.
Learn to work with the appointed season of God, not the season you find convenient. In addition, learn to seize every opportunity that comes your way to do service for God or the cause of humanity. Always remember that if you waste an opportunity, you may never get it back or may have to wait for a long time for a second chance.
God is not only jealous; His name is Jealous as well! The dictionary gives several ideas of what it means to be jealous. I like the one that says to be jealous is to be “intolerant of rivalry or unfaithfulness”. God will not accommodate a rival.
God has graciously put before us men and women with different skill-sets, spiritual exposures, and life experiences. Many of them will be eager to feed us from their repertoire of knowledge to make our quest less tedious. It pays to listen to wise and mature counsel.
