Thirdly, you have to know the season that the word of God has been programmed for fulfilment. God speaks and performs His word in seasons.

Even when there seems to be a “genuine” reason to show hatred, by which we mean someone has truly offended you, remember it is a trap of the devil.

When the devil sends in the bait of fear, he rips open through the defence line and attacks eventually. David was able to defeat the counsel of Ahithophel through prayer. When you are afraid, pray!

The principal way by which the devil preys on people is deception. He goes about lying to people. In our text, Jesus not only said that every word from his mouth is a lie, but that he is the father of lies!

To win in life we all must subscribe to the instruction of the Holy Spirit who is the Chief Coach. Jesus spoke about Him before His departure. In our text, part of His duties is to guide believers into all truth. Elsewhere, it is noted that He will teach all things. (John 14:26).

Our passage of Scripture makes it plain that the Holy Spirit filled all who were in the upper room on the day of Pentecost. All believers can partake of the gift of God.

Treasures stored up in heaven are not only secured, but they also help in re-directing our focus. A man’s heart will certainly be focused where he has his investment. Investing in heaven frees us from distractions of this world.

So believers should go beyond what is lawful to what is profitable. Looking ahead to the reward of God in the new earth, we must strive to lay aside not just sin but every weight that may negatively impact us.

It is those who are rich towards God that will inherit the earth. Not the earth as presently constituted, but the new one that shall descend from heaven. Its length, breadth and height are all equal. That speaks of perfection! That ought to be the ultimate longing of all.

In prophetic agenda, this earth shall again wear a resemblance of heaven just as God intended from the beginning. The sinners and all the wicked ones will have no part in God’s new earth. It shall be the heritage of the saints forever.
